JOURNAL PROMPTS TO DIG DEEPER

HEY Y’ALL!!!

I just want to put this statement here at the beginning so there is no confusion, but the majority of the journal prompts I am going to include in my post were not thought of by myself & I am planning on giving credit where credit is due. However, some prompts I have come across & been unable to track down the author – if you happen to know any that I do not, please let me know!


LET’S TALK JOURNALS –

I decided to write up this post because I made a little graphic with some journal prompts for my good friend hal pal last week, and decided that I wanted to share all the lovely words and thought provoking questions I have come across recently. I have always been a fan of journaling, as when I was growing up my emotions were stored so so very deep in my body & always thought no one cared what I had to say so I may as well just write it in a journal and forget about it …

Definitely not the right approach to journaling, but it got me into writing down my feelings and day to day thoughts.

& I have found a new love for journaling that means a lot more to me and my soul than my original emotion ignoring banter. My head is an extremely overwhelming place. I feel like my brain is on rapid speed 24/7, I love thinking, but I can’t ever relax or focus because I think of too much at once. When I got diagnosed with narcolepsy and had to start taking so many stimulants in order to just function like a regular human during the day, my focus level went down from subpar to complete shit. I get distracted more than the average 3 year old. My brain picked up speed like nothing I thought possible, and it was driving me crazy – I would go day … DAYS … without good sleep because I would wake up needing to write something down.

IN COMES MY NEW AND IMPROVED JOURNALS & JOURNAL PROMPTS!

I found a good use of my writing habits and just would brain dumb maybe four times a day. LORD DID THIS HELP ME MORE THAN EVER! I love it. I have notebooks random mixed thoughts of bullshit I just needed to get out of my head. It is so soothing that it has become a necessary part of my morning routine.

I will just jump right in and throw out some prompts that I have loved thinking about recently! I hope y’all find some value in these, and let me know if you want more / know of great places to find them, etc…

These ~prompts~ I found on @wellnesswithsoph instagram story one day changed my life. Not trying to be dramatic but truly they did, and they’re so simple! I have always been the biggest fan of planning out everything; day-tot-, down to the MINUTE, scheduling everything so I could be as prepared as possible … THENNNN my shit hit the fan and my main priority and focus was now taking care of Ripley. I no longer had much to schedule so I didn’t carry a planner like I always had. I become so unorganized I was making myself crazy from all the bad habits I had developed, but at the same time I didn’t really have much to schedule! {especially now since the pandemic started}. 

The “journal prompts / lists” have helped me tremendously in keeping my day-to-day tasks in order, which in turn has made me so much more motivated to achieve and work towards the next season of my life.

WWWEELLLLL I believe that is all for now! Maybe i’ll wake up tomorrow with an urge to add more, but for now I think this is a good start!!!
